MAY – SEPTEMBER 2020 (PICTURES) – On Friday, May 22, 2020, St. Michael Parish was certified by the Archdiocese of Chicago for Phase 1 and Phase 1A of the Archdiocesan Reopening Plan. We were one of the first parishes to receive this certification.
Phase 1 allows us to open to celebrate Baptisms, Weddings, and Funerals for groups of 10 or less while maintaining proper social distancing at all times. We have also been approved to open for Confessions.
During the week of May 24-30, 2020, we were able to welcome a new disciple through the waters of Baptism and celebrate a Funeral Mass for one of our parishioners. The learning curve is steep for celebrating these Sacraments with the restrictions placed upon us.
