Memorial Service for Aborted Children – September 12

On Saturday, September 12, pro-life Americans throughout the country will gather at the gravesites of aborted babies and other memorial sites dedicated in their honor for the 14th annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children.
Solemn vigils will be held at these sites to commemorate the more than 65 million children who have lost their lives to legal abortion since 1973, and to remind our society of the humanity of the unborn child. The memorial service at St. Mary Cemetery takes place at the gravesite of 500 babies who were discovered and retrieved from the garbage dumpsters of several downtown Chicago abortion facilities in early 1987. It is one of the earliest of the gravesites across the United States. Please join us for the memorial service in our community:

About our Pro-Life Ministry
Pro-Life Rosary Prayer Intentions (PDF)
Supporting Life from Conception to Natural Death – Our St. Michael Pro-Life Ministry is a dedicated group of individuals who are committed to protecting life at all stages.
Pro-Life is about valuing and guarding all human life from conception to natural death. Our ministry participates in Forty Days for Life, prayer vigils, rosary rallies, Pro-Life Masses, lobbying in Springfield, and publicizing pro-life legislation. Each October, we head our parish’s Baby Bottle Project to help fund the Women’s Center, which offers alternatives to abortion.
St. Michael’s Pro-Life Ministry fully agrees with Pope St. John Paul II’s sentiments:
“Respect for life requires that science and technology should always be at the service of man and his integral development. Society as a whole must respect, defend and promote the dignity of every human person, at every moment and in every condition of that person’s life.” – Pope John Paul II, Evangelium Vitae (The Gospel of Life), 1995
