Renaissance Academy at Chicago (not-for-profit) at Saint Xavier University (SXU) will hold an open house on Thursday, September 10, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, in SXU’s Butler Room, located immediately inside the Warde Academic Center at 3700 West 103rd Street in Chicago for older community members who wish to gather and learn in a convivial setting.
Renaissance Academy is open to people over the age of 55 who seek opportunities for growth, enrichment, and fellowship. Members meet Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for six-week sessions in the fall, winter, and spring for courses that are peer-facilitated and cover a range of topics such as history, music, art, current events, literature, psychology, theatre, and more. Other classes, including book discussions, are available via Zoom on Wednesdays.
Registration for the Autumn 2026 session will take place online from September 11-25, 2026, and classes will begin on October 6, 2026. The membership cost for the 2026-2027 school year is $180.
