SEPTEMBER 2022 (PICTURES) – Our Monday and Tuesday RE families resumed growing in faith together in mid-September at Holy Mass with Fr. Frank – Prior to our opening song, everyone was reminded of their YES to God’s invitation to come to His church for Holy Mass, that God is present in His church in His Word, in the tabernacle, in the Eucharist, and in each of us.
Throughout the Holy Mass, which is a prayer from start to finish, we need to open our mind and heart, to look and listen, to actively participate in each part of the Mass, the core of our Faith. In his homily, Fr. Frank reminded parents of their responsibility to guide their children in our Faith, to continue bringing their children to Holy Mass, to remember that if what families do in their daily lives doesn’t align with what their children are learning in their faith formation sessions, there will be a disconnect and confusion in their children’s formation.
Each week as RE class begins, praying continues, inspired by our opening Mass. The catechist and students can gather around their classroom prayer table to hear and discuss scripture and to pray from their heart, both traditional prayers and conversation with God, and offering intentions for many.
A catechist can also take their students to church for prayer time. As they head to the church, students prepare their mind, heart, and body to reverently enter this holy place, to be in the presence of our Lord, to offer their thoughts, prayers, and more to God Who loves them dearly and deeply. Prayers for our first month have included the Sign of the Cross, the Act of Hope, the Morning Offering, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Family Prayer.
